Boredom is a terrible thing. For me, in fact, boredom is a way to test myself to figure out how depressed I am. I ask myself, How would I feel right now if I were bored?
If the answer is “I wouldn’t be able to handle it. I would go crazy or feel terrible,” I know that I’m depressed.
Of course, most of the time I don’t let it get that far. Every day, I have things to do—projects, especially, but fun things, too, like seeing friends and going for coffee and playing volleyball and, even, going to church.
It helps a lot.
I mean, a lot.
It makes all the difference in the world.
Of course, there are those people that are never bored, that know how to make everything fun even when it’s not. Where we see malls and office buildings, they see a freaking carnival.
God bless them.
They are gods.
But I will never be like them.
I will just be me.
